Catching a Leprechaun

Last week the Kiddoes were excited to create Leprechaun traps to see if they could catch a wee little man. After reading a few stories, we learned that if we caught a Leprechaun, he would have to give us a pot of gold. With thoughts of gold in their minds, many Kiddoes created elaborate traps in hopes of snagging a little green man. When the Kiddoes arrived today, there was much excitement in the room as tables had been overturned, chairs were upside down, and objects moved all around. It wasn't long before the Kiddoes found little green footprints all over the room. Using some detective skills, we figured the Leprechaun came in through the window, and had a party in the room, dancing over the traps and making a mess. The footprints led out the door, so we followed them around the school looking for clues to his whereabouts!

Once back in the room, we quickly discovered a gold sheet on our writing table. When we lifted the sheet, we were excited to find a treasure and a note telling us to stir while saying "shamrock". Much to the Kiddoes delight the treasure started to change colour from white to green!!! With much laughter and plan making for next year, the Kiddoes enjoyed a quick snack courtesy of the infamous Leprechaun!
